Instructions 93-95 Ford 3.2 SHO Taurus Part # asp926970




Auto Specialties recommends that these pulleys be installed by a qualified mechanic.

1993-95 Ford 3.2 SHO Taurus

1. Set parking brake.

2. Position jack stands under car.

3. Jack up car and remove right front wheel.

4. Remove 3 plastic snap plugs from plastic inner fenderwell by pulling out center of plugs and loosen brake line bracket for access to crankshaft dampner.

5. Remove crankshaft bolt with 19mm socket by using an impact gun or by using 12" breaker bar sitting on top of the frame by the lower radiator hose and tapping the starter key once to break the bolt loose. Note: The dampner turns clockwise.

6. Disconnect and remove the battery.

7. Remove the battery tray by removing 3 bolts with 10mm socket.

8. Remove accessory belt by using a 17mm socket and 12" breaker bar. Place socket on the Tension idler pulley bolt from top of car and push down to loosen tension.

9. Pull back inner fenderwell and remove crankshaft dampner using two 8mm bolts 3" long.

10.Very lightly coat inside of pulley with synthetic lube to help install.

11.Install underdrive pulley.

12.Loctite crankshaft bolt.

13.Tighten bolt with impact. Insure pulley is completely on crankshaft by looking at pulley alignment from under car. If pulley is not drawn up completely, the crankshaft position sensor alignment may be affected.

14.Remove factory alternator pulley and install new alternator pulley.

15.Install new Gates belt K060837.

16.Install battery tray and battery.

17.Install plastic clips and brake bracket in fenderwell.

18.Install front wheel.

19.Start car and run idle sequence to set memory on computer.
