Auto Specialties recommends these pulleys be installed by a qualified mechanic.
1. Loosen crank pulley center bolt and three mounting bolts. Loosen alternator nut if installing alternator pulley.
2. Loosen all belt adjustment screws on smog pump, alternator, AC, and power steering pump. Remove belts.
3. Remove crank pulley bolts and pulley. Remove alternator pulley and spacer.
4. Install Auto Specialties crank pulley. Torque bolts to 50 ft/lbs approximately. Use Loctite thread Lock #242, or equivalent, to secure bolts. Install alternator pulley.
5. Install power steering belt, AC, alternator and original belt on smog pump. Adjust power steering belt first. Tighten power steering mounting bolts. Install belt in grooves closest to alternator if using alternator pulley. Adjust and tighten AC, Alternator and smog pump.(See back for belt number.)
6. Set warm idle speed for automatic cars at 650-700 RPM in drive; standard shift 700-750 RPM.
